NCDC Team Conducts Assessment Visit to Center for Disease Control and Research, FMC Asaba for MPOX Screening Center

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) team from Abuja recently visited the Center for Disease Control and Research at Federal Medical Center (FMC) Asaba to assess its readiness to become a screening center for MPOX. The visit, which took place on the 10th and 11th, involved a reception by the management and an assessment of the molecular laboratory for MPOX training and diagnosis.

Strengthening MPOX Response
This development is part of broader efforts to enhance public health preparedness and response in Nigeria. The assessment visit is a crucial step in ensuring the center meets the necessary standards for MPOX diagnosis and screening.

Follow-up Visit
The NCDC team's visit was followed by a visit to the State Ministry of Health, Delta State. This visit highlights the collaborative efforts between national and state health authorities in strengthening MPOX preparedness and response.
