Official Visit and Engagement of Professor Danny Asogun at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba

The Centre for Disease Control and Research (CDCR), Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, hosted Professor Danny Asogun as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity in research and academic development.


Professor Asogun, who is affiliated with the Institute of Viral and Emergent Pathogens Control and Research, Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State, was officially invited to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, to serve as a resource person in a hospital-wide seminar on grantsmanship and research grant writing.


As part of the engagement, he was received and hosted on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, ahead of the main event. The seminar subsequently held on Thursday, 30 April 2026, bringing together healthcare professionals, researchers, and administrative staff of the Centre for Disease Control and Research.


During the seminar, Professor Asogun provided expert insights on effective grant writing, proposal development, and strategies for improving research funding success. His presentation contributed meaningfully to strengthening research capacity within the Centre.


The visit also served as an avenue to foster continued collaboration between both institutions. Professor Asogun is expected to continue working with the Centre for Disease Control and Research in advancing research activities, capacity building, and scientific output.


The Centre expressed its appreciation for his contribution and looks forward to sustained partnership aimed at improving research excellence and public health innovation.
