Visit of ECEWS CEO to CDCR at FMC Asaba

The Chief Executive Officer of Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS) paid an official visit on 4 March 2026 to the Centre for Disease Control and Research (CDCR) located at Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.
During the visit, the CEO inspected the Molecular Laboratory facility and its equipment as part of efforts to assess the laboratory’s operational capacity and support ongoing diagnostic and research activities. The inspection provided an opportunity to review the available infrastructure and evaluate the role of the laboratory in strengthening disease surveillance and clinical diagnostics within the centre.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of the Director of the CDCR and the Deputy Director of the Medical Laboratory Services, who guided the visiting team through the facility and provided relevant information regarding the laboratory’s capabilities and ongoing activities.
The visit highlighted the importance of collaboration between health institutions and partner organizations in improving diagnostic services, research capacity, and disease control efforts within the healthcare system.
