ADMINISTRATION
The department is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of all activities of the Hospital. It provides the proper indirect frame work for the delivery of patient care. Such indirect in-puts affect the effectiveness, timeliness, appropriateness, acceptability, accessibility and economy of the services rendered to patients. The department is therefore geared towards the efficient management of resources (human, material, money, information, time) in pursuit of rendering world class service delivery.
SECTIONS IN THE DEPARTMENT
1. ESTABLISHMENT SECTION: This section is coordinates all staff matters including recruitment training, discipline, union matters, housing and passages. It ensures the processing of applications for appointments, transfer of service, secondments and maintains an up-to-date staff list for the hospital etc. Liaises with all the department/units and is responsible for staff welfare, annual staff assessments, promotions, salary administration and fringe benefits. The head of section advises the Director of Administration on all matters on staff condition of service as contained in the Public service Rules, Gazettes, Regulations, Federal Government circulars e.t.c
2. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SECTION: In terms of physical planning, this section is responsible for collection, collating, coordinating and execution of all planning proposals from respective departments including tender processing. The section also keeps track of progress on all ongoing projects within the hospital and prepares regular reports on the developmental activities of all capital projects of the hospital.
3. NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME: This is a scheme conceived by the Federal Government of Nigeria to improve the health of all Nigerians at an affordable cost. The scheme provides social health insurance ensuring contributions to a pool by participants of the scheme. As a social security system it is geared towards risk sharing to improve resource mobilization and equity. In order to ensure that every Nigerian has access, the scheme has developed various programmes to cover different segments of the society and these are:
Formal Sector
• Formal Sector Social Health Insurance Programme: All Federal Institutions, Armed Forces, Police.
• Organized Private Sector.
• Voluntary Contributors Social Health Insurance Programmes.
Informal Sector
• Tertiary Institution Social Health Insurance Programmes.
• Community Based Social Health Insurance Programmes.
• Public Private Partnership Social Health Insurance Programmes.
4. WORKS AND SERVICES SECTION: It is the responsibility of this section to deploy maintenance squads/teams to attend to any civil, mechanical, electrical engineering/estate management complaints as they arise. This section has a clerk that receives, documents and passes complaints to the officer directly incharge of a given area for the purpose of routine maintenance
5. INFORMATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS SECTION: This section is responsible for information and publication, public complaints, receptions and protocols as well as dealing with press and Mass media.
