The Ophthalmology department of Federal Medical Center Asaba had it's 1st accreditation by the West African College of Surgeons, Faculty of Ophthalmology . A three-man panel chaired by Prof J.F.A owoeye, Dr E. Achigbu, Secretary of board, and Dr Y.C Muhammad - member of board visited the hospital for the accreditation.

A tour to the existing facilities of the Ophthalmology department was done and was certified very well equipped and in good condition.

The accreditation team members with the Medical Director of General Hospital Okwe, Consultants in the department of Ophthalmology FMC Asaba and some residents of the department joined in a photo op as shown.
