AWARD PRESENTATION:
Excellence in Electronic Medical Record [EMR] Adoption.
Tuesday, 21st May 2026. The Management led by Dr Ekeneam Omo presented awards to officers who demonstrated excellence in adopting and using our Electronic Medical Record system, EMR.
This is more than a ceremony. It’s recognition of a shift that’s transforming how we deliver care at the Federal Medical Center Asaba.
Why it matters:
Healthcare is moving from paper to data. But data only matters when the people behind it use it well.
Before EMR, records got lost, wait times stretched, and clinical decisions were made with incomplete information.
With EMR, we now have:
- Real-time access to patient history
- Reduced duplication of tests
- Faster, safer clinical workflows
The software is only as good as the people using it. The officers we’re celebrating today made it work for patients, clinicians, and the hospital.
They showed accuracy, speed, ownership, and consistency.
Awardees:
1. Dr. Enughwure Ese Edirin, Registrar (Family Medicine)
2. Dr. Enakireshi Favour,
Registrar (FamilyMedicine)
3. Chimeke Chika, Nursing officer (Gopc)
4. Iwuoha Winifred, Nursing officer (Gopc)
5 Jewo Godspower, Records Dept (Mopc)
6 Ubogy Nancy, Records Dept (Sopc)
7. Comfort Bula, Cashier (Remita)
8. Blessing Disemoh Cashier (Remita).
Each of them has proven that technology adoption isn’t just about IT. It’s about clinical ownership and patient focus.
EMR is now the standard of care. The example set by these officers shows what’s possible when we embrace it fully.
