Grand Opening of the College of Nursing Sciences (Federal Medical Centre, Asaba) Unicha-uku Satellite Campus

The College of Nursing Sciences (Federal Medical Centre, Asaba) Unicha-uku Satellite Campus was opened on the 13th of May 2024, in Attendance was His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and other VIPs

It was an uproar of excitement and great celebration at Onicha Uku and its environs in the Aniocha north council area of Delta State on Monday the 13th of May as the satellite campus of the College of Nursing Science,Federal Medical Center Asaba was formally inaugurated.


The satellite campus was initially envisioned by the former minority leader in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu as a primary Health Care Center for the well-being of his community but after many years of development,it metamorphosed in to this great citadel of learning.

The Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Dr. Victor Osiatuma, in his remark, thanked Hon. Elumelu for attracting the college while in office and appealed to the state government and other relevant stakeholders for the sinking of a borehole to solve water needs in the school, in addition to handling the issues of electricity, transportation, and security.


He equally thanked Governor Oborevwori for his achievements in office in the last 11 months, especially in the health sector, and urged him not to relent in recording more successes.The Medical Director also acknowledged the great support of His Excellency Sen.Dr Ifeanyi Okowa,former Governor of Delta state which culminated to the establishment of this college and other things.

The representative of Onicha-Uku town, Chief Ephraim Osubor, described the project as an asset in the health sector and a massive contribution to the community.


Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who announced the donation of two(2) 32-seater coastal buses to the new college, assured the Federal Government of the state government’s partnership and commitment to the growth and development of the health sector in the state.



He went further to properly commission the college and unveiled the plaque



There was great merriment and the students took to the dance floor to celebrate the opening of their school!
