Saturday, June 21, 2025, was a colorful day, as Dr. Victor Azubuike Osiatuma, the out-going Medical Director and Chief Executive officer, Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Asaba, marked his end of tenure after meritoriously completing his mandatory two tenures at the helm of affairs of the hospital.
The event started with a Church Thanksgiving service at Christ Embassy, then proceeded to a reception at the Marquee Event Center, Asaba.
It was fanfare and an extravaganza of beautiful guests with an abundance of food and drinks.
Dr. Osiatuma was honored with different awards at the event for his excellent service to Deltans and Delta State as CMD of the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba for eight outstanding years.
The Awards varied from remarkable innovations, pragmatic reforms and unparalleled transformation both in infrastructural development of the establishment and welfare of workers and a lot more.The event flowed with with an outpouring of tributes, eulogies, encomiums and commendations from all over the country.
One of the high points of the event was the launching of a book titled: Dr. Victor Azubuike Osiatuma, A Physician’s Extraordinary Journey. The book presentation was coordinated by Mr. Godfrey Osakwe, Chairman, NIPR Delta State, and the book was written by Sylvester Asoya. The reviewer of the book was the renowned award winning journalist, author, phenomenal tutor, and performance poetry guru extraordinaire, Akeem Lasisi.
